Senior Behavioral Care
Baptist Senior Care provides a safe and compassionate environment where seniors can receive quality care for severe depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Our multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, social workers, activity therapists, registered nurses, psychiatric technicians, and dietetic consultation. Primary care physicians are an active part of the medical management team.
Admissions criteria: Patients 65 and older who could benefit from short-term inpatient mental health care, including those with severe depression; sudden hallucinations, delusions or illusions; noncompliance with prescribed mental health regimen; potential hazard to the person's health or life; sudden inability to cope with stressful situations or inability to perform daily activities; or modification of psychotropic drugs. Diabetic Education Program
Funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee, this program provides free classes to Tennessee residents that give newly diagnosed diabetes patients the tools they need to manage the disease. Your individualized plan of care may include nutritional counseling, exercise plans, physical therapy, glucose monitoring, group classes on healthy eating and other lifestyle modifications, diabetes medications and insulin, and ways to prevent complications. Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County’s cardiac rehab program is designed to help people with cardiovascular illnesses, including coronary artery disease and heart attack, as well as people who have had coronary artery bypass surgery, angioplasties, stents, heart valve surgery or repair, and heart transplants.

Sleep Disorders Center
Baptist Carroll County's Sleep Disorders Center provides diagnostic services and treatment to patients who show symptoms of a sleep disorder. More than 80 sleep disorders can affect sleep, and some studies indicate that chronic sleep loss also may contribute to diabetes, heart disease, obesity and other age-related chronic disorders. The Sleep Disorders Center uses advanced digital technology and offer all-night polysomnographic monitoring and daytime nap testing by highly trained technicians. Each treatment is individualized based on the patient's needs.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
We treat patients who are living with chronic lung conditions or diseases, including
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Lung cancer or lung cancer surgery
- Pulmonary fibrosis and more
Our pulmonary team includes physicians, therapists and nurses who work together to create customized treatment options for each patient. We focus on providing education to our patients to help them understand their disease and achieve the highest quality of life. Our treatment plans may include
- Reducing and controlling breathing difficulties and symptoms
- Reconditioning and strength building
- Regaining independence
- Developing coping strategies
- Disease and medication education
- Smoking cessation education
